In the 117th and final Mann Ki Baat episode of 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on citizens to foster unity and eliminate societal divisions and hatred. He emphasized this message while discussing preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela, scheduled to begin in Prayagraj on January 13, 2025.
Speaking about the Mahakumbh, PM Modi highlighted its symbolism of unity and inclusion. "Extensive preparations are underway at the Sangam banks. During the Kumbh, let us pledge to eradicate division and hatred in our society," he urged. Calling the event the "Mahakumbh of Unity," the Prime Minister remarked, "Here, there is no discrimination—everyone is equal."
PM Modi also shared details of the technological innovations planned for Mahakumbh 2025. For the first time, an AI chatbot will provide information in 11 Indian languages, offering updates on government-approved tour packages, accommodations, and homestays. Devotees will also benefit from digital navigation to locate ghats, temples, akharas, and parking spaces, while AI-powered cameras will enhance security and assist in reuniting lost individuals with their families. A digital lost-and-found center will also be introduced for the convenience of attendees.
During his address, PM Modi paid homage to iconic Indian cinema personalities Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and Tapan Sinha, as 2024 marks the centenary of their births. He praised their contributions in bringing global recognition to India’s cultural heritage, highlighting Raj Kapoor’s pivotal role in showcasing India’s soft power through cinema.
The Prime Minister also reflected on the importance of the Indian Constitution as the nation prepares to commemorate the 75th anniversary of its implementation on the upcoming Republic Day. "Our Constitution, crafted by its makers, has stood the test of time and remains our guiding light," he said.
